OMGeno Reviews: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Before I say anything, let me just say this:
THE GAME
Now that that's out of the way, allow me to begin.
Kirby, the 2D puff ball that was used to play pinball, makes his first 3D appearance in a groundbreaking sidescroller called: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Unless you're an idiot and didn't read the first sentence, Kirby 64 is a 3D sidescrolling platformer. If you ask me what system this game is on I will chop your balls off.
This game was another one of the N64's masterpices. In this game, you are Kirby. Now I know what you're thinking: "No freakin way!". Way. You are just sitting under the stars one niggt when something comes shooting from the sky and nails you right in your head (which also appears to be your torso). Turns out iy's a fairy. Nearby is a shiny crystal thing. You pick it up and the fairy says (or charades, rather) that she needs all the crystal pieces to save her planet from an evil that's taken over. So, you travel through 6 planets and visit multiple places in each one. (Heh, in most games you're stuck in a town, but in THIS game you're doing whole planets) Along your adventure you'll listen to great music, enjoy vivid scenery, and face many enemies which can be disposed of by using and combining the powers of enemies that you inhale.
Mario may jump high, but only Kirby can fly. Kirby meets many friends along the way and each helps in their own ways. And in each level you'll have to find pieces of the Crystal (Crystal Shards). There are 100 total and they are not easy. Especially considering that bosses have them too.
I liked this game from beginning to end. The sound, look, feel, and gameplay were all great. It took me a long time to beat this 100%. Plus there's fun little mini-games and collectible enemy cards... plus a final boss that looks like Giygas' grandfather...
Overall, I give this game a 9.5.
At times I really had no idea where to find Shards and when I found out I never saw a resemblance. But this game is great. I reccommend this to all.
Bye for now.
