He wants more blogs? I'll give him more blogs.
As i mentioned, i decided to get down to my childhood and play through Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. What i didn't mention though is that there is another title or three i need to replay that held very fond memories but i never owned myself.
These were Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Kart... Space Invaders was another game i actually owned and i can say the SNES port is brilliant but I've been playing that online. I actually recall the bowling alley near my place had Space Invaders in the arcade it was so god damned great!
Now to discuss Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Kart in a little more detail. Because i guess that's how my blogs are usually structured.
I borrowed Donkey Kong Country from some friends and it instantly became a hit with me from the unforgettable opening sequence to me actually mimicking Diddy Kong's reaction to loosing a game (which involved throwing his hat to the ground and jumping up and down on it (people thought i had problems)) and it was one of those titles i replayed relentlessly in the small time-span i had it. Surpassing the progress my friends had, making it all the way to K. Rool but never being able to defeat him. This particular cartridge always lost it's save data and instead of adjusting the cartridge until it read it i just went ahead and started a new file until i got back to where i was. I'll probably get on this when i beat ALTTP.
Super Mario Kart was a game i played once or twice at a friends but it always perplexed me basically because i had never really played it at all, i recall my friends digging it out one day as well as their SNES and playing it one last time, then going for a swim. I passed on the swim and spent an hour just going through time trials because the 100cc races were just too difficult for me to finish. I wouldn't mind going back just to play through them but really i don't know what other purpose me playing through it would hold other than proving my childhood self was a poor gamer again.
And i think that's it for SNES titles until i play through them and write retrospectives on them and whatever, which i'm getting close to finishing Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past so you could expect that i spose.
Also, hopefully i come on occasionally instead of rarely again, i always find myself coming back and enjoying this place a little more each time, especially looking through the Unity stuff just recently! Keep up the work Skill and everyone else involved!
