The Super Nintendo

Hey there's a blog thing here.
Prepare for a series of blogs discussing what games I've played. Today's blog is beginning from the very beginning for me. At least i think anyways.
I got my first console. Which was probably the SNES from my Uncle when i was 6. My cousin was 1 at the time, so the idea was i kept the console "warm" until he grew and got the chance to play it. With this came a Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past and probably the worst game i ever played Ultraman.
Super Mario World became my life in a short period of time, i beat the first Koopa Kid pretty easily but then again who didn't? The game was a massive world but at the same time just 100 sidescroller levels. There were multiple exits to each level, exploration was encouraged and when you got to a secret exit it was just the best. Another place to discover, and sometimes this would lead to a prize, or fortress. I've never beaten Bowser though. Which would have been really great. And the music is engraved in my memory despite the fact not playing this in the last 8 years probably.
I need to get this on the Virtual Console.
Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past was as good but a far more difficult game for me. I don't think i ever beat the first real dungeon. I would just explore and explore and explore the over world of Hyrule, going into most nooks and crannies but avoiding the desert and swamp. The music also plays in my head non stop and i have no clue why, these games just seem to be associated just by the opening sequence and music. Speaking of opening sequence, i would shut the console down the second the Maiden would be teleported to the dark world, i was very scared of it.
I also need to get this on Virtual Console.
Ultraman was a horrible horrible game. It looked quite good but i probably still can't beat it. It wasn't all that difficult. The game is a beat-em up like Street Fighter, you fight one boss in each level and that's it. A series of boss fights.
The reason i could never beat it is because the game has an impossible to remember finishing move to beat each boss, and i didn't know the finishing move whether it's a combination of buttons, one button held down or a series of buttons is beyond me. I played this the least, other than attempting to beat it every once in a while for no reason.
I don't know who has the SNES now-a-days, i gave it back to my cousin but he lost the AV cable and I've never seen it again.
I remember trying to set it up at my Grandparents and not being able to find the AV cable. I tried to explain the problem was just buying a cord. But the game was sent to my other uncle who was going to fix it. I haven't heard of it since. And it's a pity, i loved that thing at one stage.
Now i just spend my time thinking about it. And holding back from just buying the games on Virtual Console.
tl;dr - Sean looks back at the Super Nintendo with fond memories. Talks about Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past and Ultraman.
Edit - Realised this hadn't "posted" due to my current settings, hopefully it's up now.
