More Kinect Sports DLC Coming Soon

A new DLC for Kinect Sports called "Calorie Challenge" will be released on April 26th.

This DLC will add 250 Gamescore and a new game mode called "Calorie Challenge Mode".

Rare Makes Staff Cutbacks!

Sources confirm reports that studio has significantly cut back on its art department, replacing full-time artists with contractors.

The news broke in a 4Chan post last month, a screengrab of which can be found here. “In an effort to cut costs,” it reads, “Rare has cut their last permanent members of art staff. All artists working there are temps.”

Two separate, independent sources close to the studio have confirmed the news to us under condition of anonymity. Our first source tells us that the entire art department at Rare – some 42 staff – were told their jobs in the firm’s Twycross headquarters were at risk of redundancy, and all affected staff had to apply for 23 managerial jobs at Rare’s new offices in Birmingham.

That means an effective cut of 19 staff – the maximum number of redundancies allowed under EU employment law without the need for a full consultation process. However, our source says “some negative feeling has led to additional artists taking the very generous voluntary redundancy packages,” taking the number of redundancies beyond 20. Our second source does not know precise numbers, but says that “due to the consultation period coming in, it would seem to be more than 20.”

Happy New Year!

It has been a Wonderful year hear at RWC!
We have seen some staff members come and go,
Some new faces,
Some old ones go,
The First RWC Awards,
But most of all, we have seen the start of a very promising fan game, on that we know will go far if the staff keep going...Project Bounce!

We always want to do better here at RWC, thats why the coming year is going to be a fun, jam packed year with a couple of changes around the site but of course, we keep our lips sealed for now

While it hasn't been the most eventful year for Rare in the matter of our favourite game series', we hope that they can go somewhere with Kinect and make some games that don't incorporatee Avatars (Viva pianta?).
With our Promising fan game in development, maybe Rare can give there game characters the key for the creativity, so us, the fans can get something back from them. For while their new direction in gaming is an interesting one that I hope will go somewhere, you cant beat the originals.

So all of us wish you a Happy New Year and we can't wait to see what this year brings us, in all aspects.
