What do you expect from Sony and Microsoft's new consoles?

Although they're still not announced, what kind of things do you expect to see from Sony and Microsoft consoles? Another Xbox? Playstation? A completely different idea altogether?

I feel like both consoles have plenty of years left in them, with all the motion stuffs. We'll have to see of course. I think a safe prediction would be this: new consoles announced E3 2013, expanded upon E3 2014, released holiday 2014 (pretty much the same schedule as the Wii U).

That seems pretty likely.

I think that as the generations pass, the gap between the release dates of consoles will be farther and farther apart because of the technological advancements.

If that does indeed happen, AA, then that would mean it would be nine years since Microsoft's last console was released. Wouldn't that be the longest gap between any two consoles?

Holy crap, that is a loooong time. But like you said, gaps are getting larger since huge advancements are few and far between.

I expect that the new consoles from Microsoft will mark the fall of the tyrant. As for Sony, I think PS4 will probably be pretty awesome!
