But if you think about it, it is. I mean, what do you do in Banjo-Kazooie? You fly, you attack stuff, you collect items, you go from one platform to another, etc. In Nuts & Bolts, you're doing basically the same thing, but you're doing it with the assistance of vehicles. For example, the items in the game are representative of many of Kazooie's powers in the first game. Look at the Egg Gun, it's basically a representation of Kazooie's egg firing power. Then, look at something like Springs which let you bounce- yet again, something Kazooie could do.
Sure, many challenges in the game revolve around racing and all that, but at its core, N&B is a platformer. At least, that's what it feels like to me.
