SSS may have borrowed a lot from Paper Mario and FF6, but if you're going to borrow, those are two very good sources to borrow from.

How does it borrow from 6? It also borrowed stuff not from Paper Mario, but from SMRPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars.

They're part of the same series of action-command based combat. Paper Mario was at first called Super Mario RPG 2. As for 6, Cackletta = Kefka. If you've played both, you know EXACTLY what this means.

Yes, but I'm saying it borrowed from the SMRPG/ Paper Mario series as a whole.

Well, Paper Mario was a spiritual sequel, not a legitimate one.

Yeah, but other than that, there isn't much in common other than the rpg gameplay between the two.

It's been ages since I've played TLOTSS but I think the two stories were vaguely connected. Didn't it have Star Road as well or something?

Star Road and Star Way, if I remember correctly. Paper Mario did seem like a more advanced version of the gameplay from Legend of the Seven Stars to me.

It also got rid of the 3 Character battle, Armors, it did keep accessories in the form of badges, but other than that, no.

Yeah, if anything PM is a more streamlined, not complex.

Yeah, I think it's a more simple RPG, focusing on making the experience magical, not about the challenge, and leaving methods for the player to challenge themselves at the same time.
